Waiting in the Wings
Some of the best backstage memoirs are written not by stars but by actors who toil at the edge of the limelight. In Adventures of a No Name Actor (forthcoming from Bloomsbury), Marco Perella, a not quite famous face with a resume of small parts in feature films and larger parts in TV movies, recounts how he has built a career playing evildoers on the sometimes sleepy Texas movie circuit. And thanks to a stint on the PBS series "Wishbone," which chronicles the exploits of a partially literary Jack Russell terrier, Perella can boast, "I have a big fan base of five-to-ten-year-olds."
